'The idea was to create a universal accessory that you can wear to the office during the day, but also fabulous that you don't hesitate to show it off on a night out.' - says Erika Rudika, Vaskala designer.

 

'We only use natural materials, grainy Italian leather that is silky to touch. I like working with leather. It being a by-product, feels like we are giving a second life to the material that otherwise would be burried under the ground. We can turn it into something beautiful and useful that would continue to serve for many years. Also, natural leather has a wonderous ability to change with time, sometimes it becomes more characteristic and beautiful the more you wear the bag.' - she continues.

Produced 100% in Riga, Latvia, it is one of the core values for Vaskala to keep all production local. Another value that Vaskala holds very dear to heart is a zero waste policy. After the bag is cut, we take all the trims and handweave the front of the bags.
